I love the way that all the Star Wars *stuff* has transitioned to the original trilogy era with the new film on the way. It's so nice to see X-wings and TIEs again!

Commander was fun for me up until I hit Lvl 6 or so on upgrades. After that it just became an exercise of opening it up every 8 hours, collecting resources, and waiting until I had enough to do more upgrades.
I've 3-star'd all the campaign missions but one and attacking regular players isn't much fun when I seem to keep getting paired with the top players in my level.

I have played so much Hearthstone that I actually felt guilty that I had not payed anything and purchased a few packs not because I wanted/needed the cards but I thought that the company ought to be paid for all of the fun I was having with their game.
The key differentiator here is that the game is fun and playable without ever having to pay a dime (as is DOTA2).

You can use them in the game, too.
But they will eventually need to move away from those, for good. Maybe for the 4th trilogy?

They'll have to come up with something equally iconic to replace them with first, which could be difficult. Personally, I suspect we'll just see new iterations upon the original design - as with JJ's new McQuarrie-based X-wings, with the streamlined noses, split intakes, and weird S-foils - with other, completely new ships to supplement them, going forward.
I mean, the Enterprise will almost certainly always have nacelles and a saucer section—but there's a lot you can do with that basic concept.

In that case the answer is no, so I better stay away.
